I cannot believe that for the fourth (and last!) time, we are updating the nursery and finally decorating for my baby boy! He is just over five months old now and just as sweet as pie!
We need to move him into his room, but that would mean transitioning Moose out and doing a bit of updating and I have basically been dragging my feet until now!
Chap has been sleeping through the night now for about two months. We have just been so busy with life and then other updates (kitchen fixtures, the laundry room, etc.) that I have not had the time to make it happen.
A week or so ago, when my husband was in Chicago for work, we got the most beautiful Serena and Lily throw in the mail. I was inspired, one thing led to the next and before I knew it, the upstairs was redecorated.
If you have ever shopped Serena and Lily, you know its a luxury home decor brand. It is seriously beautiful. The quality is top notch and their style is to die for. I could have a hay day shopping on their website for goodies to fill every single room of my home, as I truly love their stuff!
I originally planned to use the throw in our living room as we could use a few nice and new things in there to freshen it up. That said, when I pulled it out and ran my hand over it, the ideas for the nursery just began to flow, and I decided that I would use it as a focal piece in that room.
When it was time to start working upstairs, I had to steal the throw from the couch and this little cutie pie – and I wouldn’t be surprised if she tried to steal it herself as I found her snuggled up in it a time or two!
Once I gathered my thoughts, we made a store run, picked up a few other things and went to work.
I kind of feel a bit nuts for tackling this last week. Along with my husband out of town, the kids were out of school. WOAH NELLIE.
Basically, trying to clean out and redecorate with four kids “helping” is like brushing your teeth while eating Oreos. Here is an in progress shot as I was pulling stuff down, Annie M entertaining Chap and stuff a bit scattered.
We also had a few distractions while we worked…ha! Never a dull moment with my littles, but I was so proud of them for helping and I was so proud of the big boys as they only expressed excitement for having Chapman upstairs with them.
The grand plan is that Moose and Brother will share a room and Chap take over the nursery. I was afraid Moose would get upset about giving up his room and that Brother would fuss about sharing, but they have been nothing but sweet and excited! Its been fun so far and we will redo the boys room eventually, so they are looking forward to that!
Anyway, the room transition had begun, the vision for the nursery had come together and we were all loving it.
I could see whites, grays, and light blues and sweet phrases and animals filling my baby boys room. I could feel the soft comforts of this blanket and loved that the chevron pattern was elegant but fun.
And the tassels on the throw. Need I say more??
He is pumped about his new room too…
And Moose is excited about moving out and in with his older bro!!
Along with the throw, I had a huge sign that I wanted to hang on the wall. I also have a few prints along with a few new sweet baby items that I need to put up, and then will do a full reveal, but here is what it currently looks like. I just think its so sweet!
Thanks to Serena and Lily for the beautiful throw. They have everything from bed and bath to nursery, outdoor, lighting, rugs, dining and more so hop over to their site and find your favorites. They also have multiple design studios and an outlet store!! WHO KNEW.
Secretly, I am hoping they will send a designer to my house and fix me right up. You think thats possible!? If not, I’d settle for a personal tour of their studios or just a little trip and a shopping spree! 😉
The Hubs came home and said, “WHY do you always move furniture and rearrange when I travel?!” Haha! I didn’t think I always did, but apparently, I do?!
I told him he should be thrilled as it means coming in to a nice, tidy, clean home! Who cares if he can’t find where his kids sleep or who’s room is who. It’s clean, right!? 😉
I’ll share the full nursery reveal soon and I am so excited to see my little mans room come together!
