Annie M has done ballet and dance for three years now.
When she first started ballet, it was more of a skip, jump and occasional point and tap type thing. The class was more play and fun. She has grown each year, learning all of her positions, working on her form and technique, enjoying her teachers and time with friends and honestly, just loves to be on the stage.
I think she has another year before she can try out for the performance troupe, but she is already looking forward to that and eventually dancing en pointe.
Each year her school does a winter performance and she has danced in this the past three years. They also have a spring recital – that she is already chatting about! My sister took all of the pictures from this years recital and I am in love with them.
They really convey the fun and professional way this story of the Grinch and Christ was shared.
Annie M was in the doll dance this year and was front and center. As always, she danced beautifully and made us all proud! My Mom and Kristin came to the show as well as Mimi and GrandDad. My Dad stayed home with the boys (they don’t sit well for performances like this!) and the baby slept on me the entire time.
My Hubs would clap LOUDLY and I would hit him and fuss. He felt bad not clapping for the dancers and I quickly informed him that while his non-dancer-clap-guilt may be real, that if he woke the baby, he was going to have to nurse him back to sleep…
Lets just say that curbed his clapping fairly well. 😉
Here are a few more pictures from the day. I love my tiny dancer and how in each of the pictures she is in a different position!
We have made a decision for the spring to let her try soccer and dance. She is so good at dancing and wants to continue that, but wants to give soccer a go too. It may be a crazy few months, but I am excited for her as she continues her passion and tries something new as well!
