Well, its been a long time – too long and here I am updating you on the animal prints in my baby boy’s nursery.
So much is going on in our life that honestly, I am not sure even where to begin! Here is a brief update, since forever ago when I unintentionally left you hanging!
- Moose had a super fun “airplane birthday party.”
- My husband has traveled for work at least three times and the kids and I all survived!
- Annie M made the talent show and did amazing.
- I work a lot (from home) and its been crazy, but I am loving it.
- Brother is INCREDIBLE at baseball.
- All three big kids are playing soccer.
- Annie M wants to try out for the dance troupe and is taking piano and doing amazing.
- Chap is the happiest kid on the planet.
- Annie M lost her first tooth (FINALLY!).
- I have lost 6 lbs…not that I am counting. 😉
- We finished our laundry room update and I do more laundry than I used to. #winning
- I finished making new cornice boards for the living room. They still need to be installed!
- We installed a new light fixture in our kitchen.
- We almost had a house fire due to children throwing laundry and it landing in a light.
- I almost botched Valentine’s Day.
- The boys dedication is this weekend!
PHEW. Now you are updated? It literally is crazy here and if I am not working, I am driving kids somewhere or hopping on the elliptical. I am on day 15 of over 10,000 steps and trying to land daily between 11,000 and 13,000.
I miss blogging and want to attempt to catch up – even if some are just photo dump posts, but really need to organize my life some first. With all we have had going on, I have been overwhelmed on the home-front and honestly, I feel like I am finally coming up for air…I say this as we are going into one of the busiest months of the year and then into summer where all of my kids will be home – and bored – and me trying to work. YIKES.
Anyway, we are all well. Kids are happy and healthy and I am thankful and just pray a lot!
Without further adieu, I want to show off the most adorable prints that are (finally) in Chap’s nursery!
You already know my affinity for all things Minted. Our birth announcements have all been through them, Christmas cards, etc. They are my go to on a lot of things and I was really excited when I found the most adorable kids art prints online!
I toiled and toiled over what I wanted to do for his nursery and when I saw these, I fell in love. They were just so cute and so sweet! They would be perfect for a girls or boys room and they have a variety of sizes they come in. I had the best time picking which ones to order.
They have about a gazillion animals – from safari to woodland and more – to choose from and I sat at the computer for hours mixing and matching them before I ultimately settled on the giraffe, zebra and llama.
If you don’t know, Minted has a community of artists who are the designers behind the art.
Minted has options to frame the prints for you as well. I already had these woodsy frames at home and so I am using them.
Initially, I was going to hang them above this shelf. After playing with the large sign and moving the three prints around, I decided I would do the large sign above the crib and the three others above the dresser. I need to patch a hole from when Moose’s prints were up, but I am thrilled with how its all come together!
Speaking of Moose…
He is just the sweetest, most loving little darling. He has the best laugh you have ever heard and is for sure my little love bug. He comes up multiple times a day for hugs and is still one who wants to crawl up into my lap and be held. He prefers “ugga mugga” over kisses and if you kiss him and he is feeling sweet, he will take it from his cheek – or where ever and place it on his heart. Seriously a cutie.
He and Brother have been sharing a room now for a few months. My husband left on a work trip and came home and the toddler bed was out, made and Moose in it.
When I did some of the redecorating, they asked if he was moving. He seemed excited about it, so I went with it. Aside from a few nights where they have bounced off the walls and fed off of each other, its been an easy transition. Sometimes they chat too much, sometimes they come down repeatedly (when one comes, both come) and often one needs to potty, which means the other has to potty, but for the most part, no issues.
Everyone says “how do we have such laid back kids.” I honestly dont know the answer to that. God just knew since we’d have so many, they had to be relaxed, I suppose?
But for real, I am a huge proponent of the whole “you create your own weather idea.” You can be hyper about stuff and your kids will be hyper. You can stress over stuff and you will worry more. You can make a big deal out of things – and your kids think its a big deal…and so forth.
With this, I didnt want to make a big deal out of it. They new Chap would need the baby bed, Moose mentioned moving and I casually went with it. We did not “kick” Moose out of his room for the baby – in fact, the baby is still in my room in the pack n play, and we have yet to redecorate the boys new room. We will eventually, just need a bit more time and money! 😉
Its been so fun seeing these two together and so fun re-decorating the nursery for the last time! We hope to move Chap up there in the next few weeks and I am excited for how all came together!
