I have to admit, with school has starting, me working full time, coaching soccer a few hours on the side and getting a dog, I have NO time to get anything done around the house.
Until yesterday, I couldnt tell you the last time I went to the grocery store, much less cooked. This weekend was the first weekend I have not had a 10 page paper to write or soccer practice to coach. Granted, I love coaching, but boy does it open up my afternoons when I dont have it. We also stayed in town this weekend and though I enjoy tailgating and Georgia Tech football, it was nice just to be at home.
Here is what I got done yesterday:
- Woke up and played with the Champster
- Made my list for the day
- Did a load of laundry
- Swept and Mopped
- Washed the sheets and remade the beds
- Planned the weeks meals
- Went to the grocery store
- Made muffins for the week, cooked dinner and made lunches for the week and boiled chicken for the week.
- Hit up the ole church
On my list, I did not get done:
- Fold and put away the laundry (I hate hanging clothes so I ALWAYS put this off)
- Work on school work
All in all, I would say it was a good Sunday. Word of the week: PRODUCTIVE!!! Lets see how long it lasts!!
Now for the videos…this video shows a normal night around the house when our dog gets his usual bursts of excitement…
This video shows Champ and his professional dog trainer, ahem myself. This is his 3 month old trick. Dont mind my grease ball head, uncoordinated outfit or my cheese in front of the camera. Lets be honest, some of us are just naturals. 😉
Pray continually. So what the heck does this really mean?? Am I never leave my house, always staying on bended knee, with hands folded, constantly praying?? When the Lord says to pray continually, doesn’t he know this world that I live in and that its not possible??…or IS it?
Some days I think about this often. The challenges the Lord has set before us seem so far out of reach, given the world we live in-or so my little pea brain thinks. The more I think about praying continually, the more it dawns on me. It is not necessarily meaning to stay in a certain position 24/7, it is really relating and speaking more to the condition of your heart. Praying continually means to stay in worship mode 24/7. Whether that be praying, worshiping, fellowshipping, serving, etc, CONTINUOUSLY stay connected to the Father.
That is my nutshell version of praying continually…ALWAYS staying connected to Jesus. As much as I would like to say that I walk in that mode all of the time, its just not true. I am human and I have issues and sometimes life gets the best of me. Sometimes cussing makes me feel better or sometimes I just want to do something cause I want to, not cause it is the will of the Lord. While I try, I am also only human and full of sin.
That said, I have been blessed recently by a certain radio station, and I wanted to share. As a part of the whole “pray continually” thing and attempting to stay in worship mode, I have been tuning into KLove. It is broad casted nationally in respective cities across the US and you can always tune in online!!
They play the best christian music, give encouraging testimonies and share news that will bless you. I turn it on (through klove.com) when I get to work in the mornings and just let it play. As I listen to it all day at work and it helps keeps my focus where it needs to be, even when the MOST annoying and trying people call or come in. 🙂
Anyway, just one little attempt to stay connected to Him through out life’s daily activities and I thought I would share! If any of you have your own helpful hints, please pass them my way!! Blessings!
