After Shiloh, we got back into our special bus and headed to Ariel. Ariel is a small and wonderful city in the West Bank that the Ranch has a relationship with. This afternoon we drove to Ariel for our students to be meet up the Israeli students and their families that they would be staying with and to welcome the Shabbat.
Before sundown, everything closes and everyone goes home to prepare for the Sabbath. At sundown, they welcome the Shabbat by reading prayers, lighting candles and breaking bread. Each household does it as they go into their time of rest. I only have a few pictures from this celebration, however it was special to be able to share in such a Jewish tradition with them!
Avi (one of the men who works for the city) gave a wonderful message from the book of Genesis, however I don’t have it in front of me right now and I cant remember it so I will have to tell you later!
