Today we had a super lazy day, just lounging along the shores of the Mediterranean – not that I am complaining of course!! It was a nice change to the busy hustle bustle schedule that we had been keeping since our arrival into the Holy Land!
We woke up late and moseyed to breakfast by 9:45, after that took naps til noon and then went to the beach and sunbathed for a few hours. The weather was mid 70’s and sunny and the breeze was cool. The water was freezing and only a few bold men in speedos were brave enough to test it…and brave enough to dress in their skimpies.
Kayaks, sailboats peppered the water and planes flew over head while Israeli music blared all along the beaches. As it was the Sabbath, the beach was full of people dancing, working out and just enjoying life. The dancers danced ALL day long. One song after another. People would come and go and the dance floor stayed full til sun down. It was a cool celebration and a truly relaxing way to rest – beachfront!
This picture was taken the evening before. On Saturday, the beach was COVERED with people and not an empty chair was to be found!
Along the beach, they have these work out stations. I guess this is an Israeli version of an elliptical??
