This week we have gotten in lots of good family time as my Hubs took a week of vacation and has been home with the family. With so much going on and it being the holidays, it truly was a great time for a little holiday staycation!
We have slept in late, left laundry longer than we should have, Starbucks-ed more times than I’d care to admit, and done some shopping, Pink Pig riding, Christmas decorating and more. We also got our Christmas Cards in the mail, volunteered up at Annie M’s elementary school a bit and shared a quick little tummy bug – NOT something I recommend sharing, though my kids all rocked it.
About this years tummy bug, for us so far, it was manageable. My kids threw up a lot in a short time period and then it was done. Best parts?? First of all, they all occurred early evenings (so no all nighters) and secondly, my kids all made it to the toilet with the exception of Moose’s first time.
Bless his little heart, he just wasn’t expecting it. The eight other times though his tiny legs would go running each time his tummy rumbled and I would run along next to him cheering. Annie M threw up at school and when I got there, the school nurse announced, “she was SO wonderful throwing up for such a small kid.” HA! I was so proud.
Thankfully, the germs are gone, house is decorated, cards sent and we are headed into Friday and ready to enjoy the weekend – and my hubs BIRTHDAY!
Now that you are updated on our life, I wanted to show off our holiday cards. I shared in THIS post my love for Minted and why they are our go to card place, but again, when this years cards arrived, I squealed.
With the exception of a few cards that I am adding thank you notes to (BANE OF MY EXISTENCE, I TELL YOU!) ours are on their way and so you are getting a peek at them even before the ole mailman delivers them!
I chose the “Blessed Christmas Christmas Photo Card” design and I love how it turned out! I also had Minted’s fancy address assistant address them for me (#bestserviceEVER) and you can see on the left in the image below, the cute Christmas trees and font used on the labels! I snapped this photo on my phone as I pulled them out of the box!
When I logged into my Minted account to track shipping, there were the last few years of Christmas cards. I couldn’t help a quick walk down memory lane and seeing how my family has grown from year to year!
A quick plug for Minted – clearly you know I am obsessed with them, but it is NOT too late to order for this years holiday season. I just saw these discount codes on their website, so click HERE and use the codes to get yours ordered! You can also choose New Year’s phrasing on yours, so if you are waiting to get through the crazy Christmas season, check that out, order and be ready to ring in 2017 with well wishes to friends and family!
So YAY for Christmas cards and I hope that ALL of you send me one!! Nothing better than real, fun, non-bill mail, can I get an AMEN!?
I am off to get a few baby snuggles in, maybe write a few of those thank you notes (yuck) and put away a few boxes of Christmas junk that I probably need to just get rid of.
Before I go, I need to show you though, that aside from blogging, I have found my life’s calling.
Two words:: BULLETIN BOARDS
I’ve no desire to be a teacher, but popping in for a few hours and updating the PTA board to whatever theme I am given? Pretty much a dream.
They don’t care what it is as long as its done and I love the creativity it enables me plus allows me to help out all in one! There is another lady I do it with and she uses her Cricut to do the letters and then I freehand the rest. For our holiday board, Annie M helped me cut snowflakes the night before.
Cute, right!? Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and Happy Friday to youuuuu! :*
