You know I love a good party and that we are birthday obsessed around here! I am excited as we plan his three year old festivities and he is thrilled too!
Its no surprise that a few months ago, when I asked him what kind of party he wanted, that he announced he wanted a, “step in time and Bert” party.
His favorite dances in the Mary Poppins movie include Bert dancing with (or like?) the penguins during the “jolly holiday” scene and him dancing with the chimney sweeps to the “step-in-time, step-in-time…” song.
Truth be told, he knows every word and every step to each of those dances and its the cutest!
I feel like our time with Mary Poppins has had its fair share, but since its what my boy loves and since I am all about getting my moneys worth of our costume and all, I went with it!
I started out thinking boy/chimney sweeps/etc. for the party. I actually considered just covering my house with white sheets, calling that the decor and being done!
As I looked online and thought about how to pull that off, I really just didn’t have a good vision or idea for it. I perused Pinterest and finally created a Mary Poppins pinboard (below). From there, I created my own inspiration board with favorite things and that’s how the planning for this shindig began!
