I have officially “walked” however, I still have a May class and a June class to finish before I will graduated and have my diploma in hand. It seems sort of anti-climatic to walk and celebrate before I am actually done, but at my school, they only have one graduation a year so if you are graduating in May or August you walk in May and if you finish in December, you wait til the next May.
Regardless, I see the light at the end of the tunnel and as my last two classes are electives that I have chosen, I do not plan to fail. That said, I am going to go ahead and deem myself Master Lauren.
Husband, Mom, Dad, MIL, and FIL all came in for the celebration. I was kind of embarrassed by walking, hated that people had gone out of their way and even more embarrassed by people coming to watch. The ceremony was outside and it was hot as blazes. Now remember that I had on a gown along with the other regalia and that I am pregnant, frumpy and as thirsty as a cactus in the desert. That made for an uncomfortable hour or so.
Anyhoo, I didn’t trip as I went across the stage and a few of the pictures came out decent and I didn’t look like a total fat sweaty pig. After the ceremony the six of us went out to Chili’s for a dinner celebration and then retreated to our respective sleeping arrangements.
CT3’s parents had arranged a local hotel to take care of some business they had in town and Mom and Dad followed us home. The next morning I had to work and Mom and Dad slept in and then kindly came to visit me at work to help pass the time. CT3’s parents drove in for lunch with us, some antique shopping and a relaxing afternoon.
Sunday I crashed like none other and this week I have had somewhat of a challenging time catching up on my rest. The weekend was lots of fun and looking back I am glad I participated…I am even more glad I am finished.
Spell check much?!
Pretty buildings. This was the first time I have ever been on campus! I attended a satellite campus.
