CT3 and I got married a mere 69 days ago, per facebook countdown (or count up in this case). That being said, we are enjoying life as JUST us, and we plan on keeping it that way for quite sometime.
Yesterday I had a FANTABULOUS day!!!
First, I had the opportunity to share with a lady at work about my passion for Jesus and Israel. That was cool.
The second awesome thing happend because of the first…the lady I was sharing about Israel and JH Ranch and all was sitting down to read the newspaper. Well, there was a magazing insert that had an article about the JH Ranch. Had we not JUST had the previous conversation, she would have never pulled the article for me.
It turns out that the article was one of the last major projects I helped do for the Ranch, taking pictures, organizing stuff and mailing it off to the guy working for the magazine. I took all of the pictures for the article (except for the 1980’s typical Ranch rafting shot) AND he gave me credit for them!!! How cool. Yes, I am officially published and will be saving in my portfolio for the day I get to be a big professional photographer. Click here for the magazine, then go to “Bringing Families Together” There you can read my name and see me famous. 🙂
Next, our office had a end of year pizza party. Yall know how I feel about food, much less free food. It was awesome. Later that afternoon, I left work and went and bought a few books (reading is my new thing) and then hit the gym. I had a GREAT workout and went home for the grand finale excitement of the day!!
I had a package waiting on me. Yes, I get THAT excited about mail. I open it and its from my b.f.f. -A 4 week late birthday present…I was estatic. SHE GAVE ME AN iPOD SHUFFLE!!!! My old one seemed to have walked away from me about 8 months ago and I have sworn that I wouldnt invest in a new one til I got back on track with my workouts…she sent me a little one to encourage me along the way! She is awesome and if you are looking for best friends (ahem, Paris Hilton) you should check out JMac…not cause she gives the best gifts ever, but cause she loves Jesus and is the bestest friend ever!!!!! My new toy:
Then the end of the night came…it wasnt complete without a bedtime chat with my other b.f.f. Julie Jordan who is out in Cali for the summer. We got to catch up on life and I got to hear her sweet little allergy-sniffled voice!!!
If today is a smidgen of what yesterday was, it will be fantastic!!! I will write more later. I am feeling very bloggish today…Bloggish defined: one who frequently writes and/or reads blogs.
Do you know people who when they are talking to someone who has a thick foreign accent, they either talk louder or try to talk in a similar accent? …Then they swear they are doing it because they will be understood better??
- My sister and my dad go to a chinese restaurant and order in a quick fast accent, “I have won ord’r chik’n fly lice, peese.” They swear that is how chinese people would say it and their loss of english grammar is somehow helpful to the listener….
- My mom goes to a Mexican restaurant and greets the server with “hola, como estas?” …then proceeds to TRY to speak Spanish to give her order. Reminder, mom hasnt had a spanish class in quite sometime…
- A guy I used to work with used to YELL in the phone when he was talking to someone abroad, and I mean YELL, like we had to close our door to continue to think…AND the person on the other end was actually from America…they just lived overseas. Somehow the yelling, helped them to understand better??!
CT3 visited IHOP in Kansas last year and loved it. We have often talked about making a trip there, however, being broke and not having leave days at work doesnt fare well for the travel bug stuck within….
Anyhoo, after church yesterday we dined at McAlister’s. The people at the table next to us were holding up a brochure that said “IHOP Macon.” We were intrigued as the only time I had heard of such was when my b.f.f. JMac had mentioned coming to Macon for some sort of weekend thing with IHOP.
Then it began. Me, being the sneaky one I am, told CT3 to discreetly turn and check it out. Strategies were discussed. What tactics would we use to ask them about it? How could we get the scoop without revealing the fact that I was totally snooping and eavesdropping on their table??
We came up with many absurd and silly scenarios, and frankly, I was looking forward to walking them out. (Actually, I was just looking forward to observing CT3 go through with it, as he is the mature one in our relationship. No worries, I’m cool with my child-like status.) …Much to my despair, they made it too easy for us.
A new person walked up and didnt have a chair. So, obviously they turned and asked us for one of ours. It was that open door that allowed us to ask them about their brochure. Here’s what we found out…
CONFIRMED: IHOP (International House of Prayer) is officially in Macon!!! Wahoo!! How random is that??? Macon, GA, we now have one in our backyard!! Apparantly, that “weekend retreat” that I thought JMac was talking about was really IHOP Macon’s grand opening. (Yes, JMac, next time you talk, I will pay MUCH better attention, I SWEAR!!!!!!)
