Is my child a toddler? Not really, but she is almost 1 and toddler sounded better in the title, so I went with it. Anyway, I don’t know what she is – a baby still I guess?? Not an infant though she is still more baby than toddler, but whatever.
On the floor of Wendy’s we spread out blankets and toys and put her down to play. We blocked us in with chairs so she couldn’t crawl away and she was happy as a clam as she played with her toys and watched Mommy eat. Not ideal, but it worked. Upon getting back in the car, she piddled around with toys for a bit before drifting off into another nap time snooze. Our next stop was in Atlanta and we stayed there for 1.5 hours while Bitty played. Again, we got back in the car and within an hour, she was taking another nap.
All of that to say, know your kids schedules and plan for extra travel time. For us, it seems that if you can give them time to burn off energy, it makes all the difference in the world! I know this wont work for everyone, but maybe it will help one or two of you!
