Kennedy Space Center
Let me describe a launch for you; Amazing, powerful, scary, nerve-wracking, exciting, loud, proud, and surreal. I could go on and on with adjectives however I will stop there. I find it fascinating to know that we are sending people in a rocket, sitting on a big giant explosive thing and shooting them into the heavenlies. It truly is history in the making being able to watch these amazing things launch into space and I feel so fortunate to have been there to see my second launch. It sends chill bumps all over me just thinking about it and Thursday and seeing Discovery’s final launch was awesome.
Long story short, we arrived late the night before to Orlando. Anne Margaret was perfect in the car for our 6+ hour drive and we only made ONE stop. She was an angel. Thursday morning, with less than 7 hours of sleep, we were up dressed and in the car heading out to Cape Canaveral. We arrived to Kennedy Space Center where our tickets to the launch were and we headed to the front of the complex to get the best viewing spots possible.
We were somewhere in there…
After setting up camp, we walked around, rode rides, meandered through museums and watched the “Hubble” IMAX presentation. We would occasionally stop by our place to make sure no one had moved our chairs and blankets that were reserving our spot.
Second launch…first one was when I was preggo with her!
Watching the IMAX
I didn’t like the glasses either. They made me too dizzy!
The queen FINALLY fell asleep!
She was the best sport all day long. It was hot and she was totally off her schedule but it was well worth it!
Hanging out at our spot
Blast off!! I love the guys arm cheering. It truly conveys the sentiments of those who were there cheering them on.

AM and I
The only part of my body that didn’t get sunburned!
Replaying the amazing launch
Quite possibly my favorite picture from the day!
My gut says we will still try to get tickets to the Causeway for one of the two remaining launches. Should anyone feel the need to give us VIP tickets to either the April or the June launch, please call. I would be much obliged.
