Starting last Thursday, the week has put me through the ringer! Aside from all things holiday, we had a wedding out of town that Annie M and I were in and it was my husbands birthday.
Throw in a few health things, a broken garage door, crazy Christmas shopping and life, and I have been a hot mess.
On Thursday, we headed to Charlotte, NC. I was SO excited about this trip and aside from a few challenges that were out of my control, it was great. I will do a few posts recapping the amazing places we stayed and dined at here in a few days!
Before we left, I got the boys hair cuts. I usually just cut them, but after a few of my “I don’t know what I am doing cuts” I take them in for it to be evened out and done professionally. It was needed and I made a spur of the moment decision to take the kids and when we got there, I realized they were both in their undies and Brother in spiderman boxers. We threw on an astronaut costume that happened to be in my car and ran in.
While Brother waited on Moose to finish, he decided that he would open a bunch of boxes in the store. I paid for those and lets just say that a few of his Christmas items have come early. He screamed and threw himself on the floor as I held Moose and tried to get the torn boxes away from him – all while two moms, one a friend and another a pre-school Mom that I hardly know both stood on and watched. Not one of our family’s finer moments but at least the boys were looking dapper.
The next day was my husbands birthday. I ordered fancy gluten free cupcakes and figured we would celebrate with the kids. When I woke up that morning, instead I had to make a quick run to the doctors office and my party plans (and all plans for the day) went out the window – or were rather delayed!
Thankfully, the kids were at school as I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get ready to get out of town….does anyone else do this? Think you are super prepared to travel and then its like all heck breaks loose a few hours before its time to go?? That was my day!
While I ran around, Brother was super happy because he had a special mystery reader show up to his school! They spent a bit of time with him and I showed up before the end of school with cupcakes for a playground birthday party for my hubs!
Since we were going out of town, GrandDad and Mimi kindly volunteered to watch Champ, so we sent my puppy with them and got the kids around to head out. We were only taking the bigs, so we dropped off Moose with my parents and kept heading north!
We kept trying to get Moose to wave, hug us, blow kisses or something, but he just kept yelling “BYE!” at us. I am so thankful he loves his Gigi and G-Diddy and I dont think he missed us one bit! They said that he behaved for them too, which made me happy!
Friday, Annie M and I got up and had a little girl time in our fancy hotel. We straightened our hair and got ready for the day. We had fancy breakfast plans, a blogger meet up and then the rehearsal dinner, so we wanted to look our best!
The highlight of my Friday and quite possibly my weekend was my coffee date with Elise from Cheer’s Yall. She seriously is the most adorable, sweet, fun-loving blogger, mama, Jesus lover you have ever met. She has the cutest baby too and my kids were obsessed “wif Miss Elise and her baby Nanthy” as Brother said for the rest of the weekend!
I linked her blog above and follow her on Instagram HERE. Her style is impecabble and her sense of humor and all things life are just so fun. I only wish I was closer and could hang out more often with her.
Annie M was super sweet while we were with her and Brother walked up, stuck his hand out and introduced himself. I am pretty sure it was the most precious thing I’ve ever seen.
Saturday was wedding day. Annie M and I spent the day with the wedding party in downtown Charlotte. I was honored to stand by my friends side as she said her “I do’s” and before we knew it, the wedding was over and we headed back to the hotel. I was tired, the day had been long and crazy and the kids were fidgety so we didn’t stay long.
The next morning we woke up early and headed back to Georgia. We got in the car and Brother told me that “he liked my hair because it looked like a croissant.”
Um, thanks?! He actually calls them a gruh-sont but whatever. I took this amazing, messy haired, gruh-sont looking top knot selfie for you to see it yourself.
So that was our weekend! I cant believe its already Wednesday! My husband had off Monday and Tuesday, so we got some stuff done around the house, got the broken garage door fixed and had a date day where we finished off our Christmas shopping and went bowling!
The week is shaping up much better than last and I am thankful that life has slowed down and excited as we cruise into the holidays!
I will be making fudge tonight and getting ready for all things pre-school holiday party and ballet recital related! I have some sponsored posts this week and am excited about all that 2016 holds.
Happy Wednesday yall!
