Spring Break, Easter and then summer adventures are right around the corner and my munchkins and I are excited and getting prepared!!
Since I have all things spring on my mind, this opportunity came at the perfect time. I am a member of the Everywhere Society and Everywhere provided me compensation for this post. Of course, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own and a thank you to Everywhere Agency and OshKosh B’gosh for allowing me to participate! So fun!
As I thought of our upcoming spring break and Easter, I thought of the activities we have planned, clothes we will need and items to prepare. Some years for Spring Break we have traveled and some years (depending on the hubs work schedule) we have opted for a staycation. This year we are looking forward to a staycation and finding new and fun adventurous things to do around Atlanta. Other than comfy, cute clothes that we can wear out and around the city, I am not doing too much planning!
As for Easter, now, thats a different story! Our Easter fun seems to cover a few weeks between kids parties at school, egg hunts at school, church activities, and then of course Easter weekend itself where we attend a contemporary worship service, lunch with the family and then of course, participate in the obligatory family egg hunts!
Along with all of that, I always like to take pictures of the kids around this time of year. The flowers are blooming, everything is turning green and the weather is warm – but not too hot. We do them in the fall and the spring and I love the contrast of seasons and styles as I document it all and watch my kids grow. For all of this, again, I like my kids to be cute, comfy and coordinating – not matchy matchy!
I had this scenario in mind as Annie M and I ventured to the Osh Kosh store last weekend. Annie M and I walked into Osh Kosh B’gosh (that link is for a store locator so you can find the closest to you!) and she was like a kid in a candy store! So proud of my little shopper and her kid style and love for fashion! Disregard the fact that she was dressed as Elsa…we were at a princess birthday party before this.
Princess Birthday parties and girl dates and shopping = the perfect day, right!? 😉
Annie M and I had some motherly – daughter back and forth as she wanted every thing in the store. She promptly came to me with an arm full of clothes and told me “they were all 5T and perfect for her!” She was a bit disappointed when I told her I was looking for her to match the boys and for clothes for family pictures and she couldn’t have it all. Since we have gotten home, she has done chores so that she can go back and get the stuff she wants and I am proud of her for working hard for it! I’ll splurge on a few extras for her too, next time we shop!
The store was really cute, had a TON of options and the prices were great. On top of that, the sales were huge (40-60% off!) and so we racked up on a bunch of items. Speaking of sales the discounts I mentioned are still available online and in store, and you can click HERE for an online coupon and use the code “SPRING16” for another 25% off! Woop woop!
I LOVED the bold, bright and fun colors that the store had and they just screamed fun and adventure to me! I was between those and something more soft for the kids pictures and ultimately chose pastel colored shirts for the boys and found a cute floral navy dress for Annie M. There were some simple navy ones that I loved too but she had a fit and wanted the flowers! 🙂 It paired really well and felt springy, Easter-y and sweet all in one, so I went with it!
With Easter being in a few weeks, I wasted no time in dressing my kids up and snapping a few photos. I am glad I did as Annie M has already worn her dress to school and Brother played in his outfit all day!
Yall. I have to say, the pictures came out even more precious than I imagined. If you have young kids and you have ever tried family pictures, you know it can be akin to chasing a herd of cats to get them all together and at least looking in the same direction at the same time! I did promise the older ones a lollipop, but it was worth every sugar rush for these images that I plan to print and hang on our walls!
A quick photo shoot taking tip…we take a few balls and tell the kids they need to be looking at me while we take the pictures because I am going to toss the ball to someone to catch. The kids are so giggly waiting and wondering if it will be them that gets the ball next that you can usually snap a few good ones!
Whether you are packing for Spring Break or looking for Easter dresses or simple spring family photo attire, Osh Kosh B’gosh has an awesome selection. When you shop, remember to combine the coupon code (“SPRING16”) with the online discounts and save!
