Tis the season for cookie decorating, stocking hanging, family picture taking, tree chopping, card sending, present buying, cookie delivering, Starbucks dates and more!
I know I am going to regret this as soon as I type the words, but for this holiday season, for now, I feel like I am ahead of the game!
Over Thanksgiving, the hubs had some time off and while we both worked some from home, I took advantage of the time and made us new stockings as well as begged my sister to take our annual family photos!
By no means are my stockings perfect, but if Pottery Barn soon calls for rights on my design, I wouldn’t blame them. 😛
Anyway, a few weeks ago, I was meandering through Target and snagged a few shirts. I fell in love with them and decided I would coordinate outfits around them for our family pictures this year.
I have talked about this before, but I usually pick a color scheme and then one or two shirts with pattern or texture and then build around that. Here is the link for 10 tips on how to dress and style for family photos!
Can I say that this years photo may be my favorite ever?? To get six people all looking at the camera, most of them smiling, and none of them doing anything too crazy?? #WINNING
The lighting was perfect and my sister is awesome, so little editing was needed and I promptly came home to my favorite design site and where I order all things card related. FYI:: I was not financially compensated for this post. I did receive a credit however, as always opinions are completely my own!
HELLO Minted, how I love you. (affiliate links)
If you have read for an extended time, you know that I have used Minted for the past few years for numerous cards and products. Birth announcements, holiday cards and nursery decor are some of the things I have purchased and they always have such great quality and top notch customer service. I also love that my purchases support independent artists – the designers behind the brand.
One of my favorite features is being able to upload my photo and seeing as it populates into the different designs!! Honestly, this only makes it that much harder to choose as they are all so great!
They have standard size and options to add photos to the back, or multiple on the front as well as postcard size, options for different edges, foil printing and more.
My hubs prefers the standard “Merry Christmas” text – and I always like something unique! I love the options that Minted has and I think in the past we have done “Merry & Bright,” “Merriest Christmas” and “Merry Christmas.” I want to do “Its a Wonderful Life” one of these time! We are sending ours out this week – but they have arrived and below is a sneak peek! 😉
And yes, I did say mailing them out this week – hopefully some even tomorrow!! Wanna know my secret!? MINTED ADDRESSES THEM FOR ME!!! All the praise hands over here!!!
Y’all KNOW if it were left up to my devices, it would take me until next Christmas to get them out, right! Haha!
Anyway, you can upload your addresses into Minted’s address book and then for free, you can pick an address style and they come to your pre-printed! I always get a few blank envelopes for any last minute additions or address changes, but the fact that this part comes done and so cute, I can’t resist!! Time saver, for sure! Here is what I chose for this years envelope print! I feel like it pairs really well with our cards and I am just all googly eyes over it all!!
If you are ordering cards, click HERE and then try these codes below for discounts.

Want to see ours!? Here tis!
Cute, right!? 😀
The other big thing we got done this weekend along with the pictures, cards and new stockings, was chop down our tree!! We have a local tree farm that we always go to and chop ours down.So yes, the stockings are hung, the annual pictures have been taken, our Christmas cards will soon be in mailboxes all over and our tree will soon be trimmed!!
I do still need to order Christmas PJ’s (our tradition for visiting Santa) and the kids want to go on our annual Christmas Scavenger Hunt (downloadable file HERE), however I am so excited about this years festivities and look forward to enjoying them with the kids!
If you do holiday cards, you need to check out Minted, use the codes above and you absolutely must mail me one!
