DAY FIVE – COCO CAY
Our wake up call came at 7:30 am. We went and got a workout in and headed to breakfast. As we were leaving breakfast, we ran into Brett and he told us we needed to hurry as the line to catch the tender to the island was super long.
I went into panic mode. The tickets had been purchased and the line was so long we were now going to miss our excursion. I don’t like being late and I don’t like being pressed for time. I freak out, feel sick to my stomach and probably complain a lot. That is what happened as I watched the time tick while we waited for the boat.
After all of that, we walked arrived at the parasail check in hut only two minutes late and we didn’t miss our excursion! The anxiety built up from almost being late turned to now excitement of flying 200 feet above the seas. We hopped on the motorboat with 6 other tourists and off we went. Parasailing was amazing. You got to fly tandem, so CT3 and I were together and they made you both walk to the back of the boat and stand for them to harness you in.
After you were harnessed in, you sat onto the boat and the boat started to move. As the wind caught the parasail, you were gently hoisted in the air and flying. There were no sudden movements or drops, just a casual up in the air and then back down. It was awesome.
I think I could have stayed up there for hours. We took pictures from a waterproof camera from above, and I had someone on the boat take pictures of us from below. As we arrived back on the island, we took off to meet up with our friends. The island was small, so after a once around glancing through the 2,000 people, we found the boys playing volleyball. I left CT3 with them and headed off to tan with the girls.
The boys played volleyball for almost three hours and won second in the tournament that was going on. Us girls just relaxed in the sun. The day seemed to fly by, and soon we were in line waiting on the tender to go back out to the ship.
That evening was the formal night for dinner on the ship. All of the girls got decked out and I wore a black cocktail dress. The boys were in suits and ties, minus CT3 who didn’t bring a tie or dress shoes…his suit did look nice though. The guys went to a pre dinner classic rock music trivia game or something and all of the girls had girl talk and did each other’s hair and make up.
Anyway, dinner was fantastic and I had my favorite of asparagus, potatoes and meat. (Constant trend, right??!) We have the best wait staff…Joann (from China) is our bread and water server, Domnic (from India) is our waiter who takes our order and serves it and Wellington (from India) is our head waiter who basically walks around and makes sure everything was okay.
Domnic taught us some neat tricks tonight involving picking up glasses with straws and stacking forks on wine bottles with toothpicks…I am sure tonight’s dinner will be just as entertaining.
Post dinner we headed through the casino, with a few people stopping to play a few of the slots, or a few rounds of craps or 21. CT3 and I aren’t gamblers so I stood around taking pictures, looking at all of the sparkling lights and whining over the cigarette smoke. Soon we had had enough and took off for the lounge with the 80’s dancing.
Ice Ice Baby and a few other key songs were played and soon it was pushing midnight. Discussion was had about a late night adult comedian, however the sleepies got us all and we took off for bed.
Today has been amazing. Tomorrow, dolphin swim!!!!
